Orrick acted as advisor Daiwa Energy & Infrastructure Co., Ltd. (DEI) in their acquisition related to the 49% equity interest in two large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in the U.S. and Italy under development by Enfinity Global Inc., a leading renewable energy company specializing in BESS solutions.

The commercial operation of both projects totalling 380MW—the 250 MW BESS project in the Houston zone of ERCOT in the U.S. and the 130 MW BESS project in the Veneto region of Italy—are set to commence by 2027, with plans to operate for over 20 years.

The cross-border Orrick team has assisted with due diligence on the projects and drafting and negotiating the investment and joint venture documents in achieving these landmarking closings.
