Nearly all members of the Orange County IP team are registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and we frequently advocate for clients before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. The team regularly collaborates with colleagues across the U.S. and in China, Japan and Taiwan. The office has a particular focus on serving Taiwan-based businesses in electronics and technology.
Our White Collar & Corporate Investigations team in Orange County is led by a former Assistant U.S. Attorney who spent 10 years prosecuting fraud and public corruption cases. Our clients operate in industries that are highly regulated, such as defense contracting, financial services and retail merchandising, and are subjected to routine governmental oversight. We represent clients in matters initiated by federal, state and local governmental agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and various district attorneys and state attorneys general.
Our Orange County litigators represent clients in complex commercial litigation across the country at both the trial and appellate levels, including in consumer class actions, unfair competition, trade secrets theft and product liability claims. Our team has handled disputes over a broad range of subjects, from amplifiers and art to school construction. Our lawyers move deftly from subject to subject and bring litigation skills honed over years of experience.
Our office is located in beautiful Irvine, California – quite literally at the center of Orange County and only a short drive from the area’s renowned beaches, golf courses and adventure parks. World-famous attractions – including Disneyland, Angel Stadium, Mission San Juan Capistrano, the Nixon Library and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts – are in our backyard. When not hard at work, we can be found on the field playing softball for Team Orrick and socializing with friends and family at events such as our annual Halloween celebration.
The Orange County office shares our global commitment to making a positive impact on people in need. We start in our community, doing thing such as building bicycles and supporting programs for children in foster care, and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. Since 2011, we have collaborated with University of California Irvine School of Law and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles on the Permanency Project, an award-winning pro bono initiative that helps undocumented victims of crime and domestic violence obtain permanent resident status and be free from their abusers. Our work on the Permanency Project has been honored with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles’ Pro Bono Service Award and the Legal Services Corporation’s Pro Bono Service Award.
