January.02.2019

Orrick announced today that Niki Fang has joined the firm as a tech capital markets partner in our San Francisco office. Niki, who joins from Fenwick, is the second recent addition to Orrick’s Bay Area team, following Bill Hughes, co-head of Orrick’s Capital Markets Practice, who also joined from Fenwick. Niki previously practiced with Davis Polk’s Silicon Valley office.

“Orrick has an amazing pipeline of late-stage clients for me to plug into and is full of great people,” said Niki. “I am really excited about growing my practice on this innovative and collaborative platform.”

Niki advises technology and life sciences companies, from privately held startups to publicly traded corporations. She has represented issuers and underwriters in public offerings as well as counseling public and late-stage private companies on financings, corporate and securities law compliance, and disclosure matters. Niki also advises startups on venture financings and general corporate matters. She has advised on the IPOs for Castlight, Cloudera, Sonos and Workday, and follow-on offerings for Redfin, Cloudera and Chegg. Niki also represented GoPro, ServiceNow and Workday on their debt offerings.

“We are thrilled to welcome Niki to our growing team at Orrick,” said Bill. “She brings a wealth of experience as an advisor on IPOs and other public and private company securities transactions and is sought after by her clients.”

“Niki is a rising star and a great addition to our team of tech sector IPO advisors,” said Chris Austin, co-head of Orrick’s Capital Markets practice. “She couldn’t come at a better time, with the pipeline of activities our clients have planned.”

Orrick counsels more than 1,800 private tech companies, as well as 10 of the Fortune 25 global tech companies. For the past five consecutive quarters, the firm has ranked #3 for venture capital financings globally (PitchBook).
