Michael Delikat, a partner in the New York office, was the previous Chair of Orrick's Global Employment Law Practice for over twenty years, which has employment law teams in the European Union, Asia as well as the United States.

He also is the founder of the firm’s Whistleblower Task Force. He previously served as the Managing Director of Orrick’s Litigation Division.

Under Mike's leadership, Orrick’s Employment Law & Litigation group was recently named Labor & Employment Department of the Year in California for the fourth consecutive year by The Recorder, the premier source for legal news, in recognition of their significant wins on behalf of leading multinational companies on today’s most complex and challenging employment law matters. Mario Scofferi, Partner in the Milan office, is a member of the Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group.

Mario deals with labor law and industrial relations, assisting Italian and foreign clients, both in judicial and out-of-court matters, related to every aspect of the management of employment relationship, agency relationship and self-employment relationship in all its forms including inter alia:

  • drafting of employment agreements (also for managers), drafting of para-subordinate employment agreements (so-called co.co.co.), self-employment agreements, agency agreements;
  • drafting additional clauses to employment agreements (for example, non-competition and confidentiality clauses, etc.);
  • drafting of incentive plans (including stock option plans);
  • remote control of employees;
  • change of duties and transfer of employees;
  • individual and collective dismissal.

Specifically, Mario assists clients in the negotiation of self-employment and employment agreements, during their respective relationships as well as in their termination, with the stated objective of guaranteeing high quality services according to rigorous detailed studies and constant interaction with the clients.

His clients operate in the tourism, tertiary and services sector, as well as credit and chemistry sector and in the public administration (i.e. companies owned by the latter).

Mario has also gained considerable experience in managing relationships of the companies with the members of their Board as well as in disputes between social security institutions and companies.

Dr. André Zimmermann, a Certified Specialist for Employment Law (Fachanwalt für Arbeitsrecht) and partner at Orrick's Düsseldorf office, heads Orrick’s employment law practice in Germany. Chanani Sandler is a senior associate in Orrick's Global Employment and Equity Compensation practice in Orrick's New York office.

With more than 12 years of experience in cross-border human resources matters, Chanani advises multinational companies across all industry lines on a variety of employment-related matters and global equity compensation. He globally manages large multi-country and large multi-function HR projects.

From an employment law perspective, Chanani advises his clients on a range of employment-related matters outside the United States, including global/local offer letters and employment contracts, HR policies and handbooks as well as termination and settlement agreements. He works with his clients to consider the employment-related impact of, and undertake due diligence for, cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

Chanani also counsels his clients on how to effectively design, implement, communicate and administer equity-based compensation benefits and other long-term incentive awards to their worldwide employees in over 100 countries.
