Orrick Grows Tech Antitrust Litigation Team with Former DOJ Trial Lawyer

• Former U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division litigator Aaron Teitelbaum joins Orrick as a partner in Washington, D.C.
• As a Senior Litigation Counsel at the DOJ (2022-2025), Aaron co-led the government’s trial teams in two of the most significant antitrust enforcement cases of this decade: United States v. Google, challenging Google’s monopolies in certain digital advertising technology markets, and United States v. JetBlue Airways, challenging JetBlue’s acquisition of Spirit Airlines. For that work, Aaron is a three-time recipient of the Assistant Attorney General Honorary Award.
• Before joining the Antitrust Division, Aaron was an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado (2018-2022), where he handled national security, cybercrime, public corruption, and narcotics trafficking matters. He also served as the Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property (CHIP) coordinator, responsible for training and advising other attorneys on electronic and digital evidence issues. He began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office (2015-2018).
• A veteran trial lawyer, Aaron has tried 16 civil and criminal cases to verdict in federal and state courts, has conducted over 100 evidentiary hearings, and has argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the California Court of Appeal.
• Most recently, Aaron practiced privately at antitrust litigation boutique Kressin Powers.
• Aaron is the firm’s third antitrust partner hire since recruiting Eric Hochstadt as Global Head of Antitrust Litigation in January 2025 -- including former General Counsel of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission Anisha Dasgupta in New York and European competition advisor Chimène Faurant in Paris. Earlier this spring, the firm added youth online safety policy authority and tech litigator Nicole Lopez from Meta in San Francisco.
