A seasoned trial lawyer, antitrust litigator and former federal prosecutor, Aaron Teitelbaum brings more than 10 years of courtroom experience and government enforcement insight to Orrick's Antitrust & Competition practice in Washington, DC. Aaron has tried more than 15 cases to verdict and conducted over 50 additional evidentiary hearings across federal and state courts nationwide. As an appellate advocate, he has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the California Court of Appeal.

Before joining Orrick, Aaron was a partner at an antitrust litigation boutique in Washington, D.C., where he represented a variety of public and private companies in the tech, life sciences and media & entertainment sectors before federal enforcement agencies, in federal district court litigation and in broader public advocacy.  

Before private practice, Aaron served as Senior Litigation Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division, where he co-led two of the most significant antitrust trials of recent years: the Department's challenge of JetBlue Airways' acquisition of Spirit Airlines and the Department’s action against Google alleging unlawful monopolization of certain digital advertising technology markets. His work at the Antitrust Division earned him three Assistant Attorney General Honorary Awards — once as an individual honoree and twice for his contributions to these landmark trial teams.

Aaron served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Colorado before joining the Antitrust Division. There, he led complex investigations, including multiple wiretap investigations, into cyberattacks, internet-based fraud, theft of trade secrets, public corruption, money laundering and narcotics trafficking. As the Office's Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property (CHIP) attorney, he advised fellow prosecutors on matters involving electronic evidence and electronic investigations, including the interpretation and application of the Stored Communications Act and the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. Aaron's notable trial victories at the U.S. Attorney's Office included the first federal jury trial conviction for marijuana trafficking following Colorado's decriminalization of certain forms of marijuana possession, as well as the jury trial conviction of a technology company CEO for embezzlement of employee benefit funds and tax crimes. He successfully defended both convictions before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, resulting in published opinions affirming the convictions.

Aaron began his career as a prosecutor at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, where he tried a variety of cases ranging from attempted murder to home invasion robbery to narcotics trafficking.

Aaron earned dual Bachelor's degrees in Biological Sciences and Music before pursuing a career in law. As a musician, he performed at Carnegie Hall, Chicago's Orchestra Hall and the Aspen Music Festival.
