Orrick has advised Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) on establishing a platform for the development of solar PV and battery storage projects in partnership with Amberside Energy. As part of the transaction, CIP, on behalf of its flagship funds, and Amberside aim to initiate the development of new projects in the UK with an ambition to reach a total installed capacity in excess of 2 GW, thus building a portfolio of scale that is expected to contribute significantly towards meeting the UK’s net zero carbon objectives.

This mandate marks another expansion of Orrick’s relationship with CIP, following the advice provided for other transactions such as the Bute Energy investment announced in 2021.

The Orrick team advising CIP on this transaction includes Simon AlseyAdam Smith, Evan StergoulisSimon FolleyCraig BruceOliver Sikora, April Lord, Rebecca Grevitt, David O’Donovan, Junaid O’Balogun, and Taylor Brien.
