Orrick was honored with the 2015 Trustlaw Social Impact Award by the Thomson Reuters Foundation for its collaboration with pro bono client, UnLtd in developing a report analyzing the legal entities available to “profit with purpose” businesses across the G8. The Impact Award is given to the project that demonstrates “a significant, wide-ranging impact on the pro bono client, their community and beyond.” Orrick was privileged to work with UnLtd. and the Mission Alignment Working Group, a division of the Social Impact Investment Taskforce established under the UK’s presidency of the G8, in developing the report. The report serves as an important tool for policymakers as they consider changes to existing legal regimes in order to facilitate investment in profit with purpose businesses.
