Safer Cyber Spaces Program: Orrick Partners Discuss Importance of Breach Preparation for Businesses

October.05.2021

Orrick is a proud sponsor of Safer Cyber Spaces, a new program launched through a collaboration between Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (PCPI) and ITN Productions, that explores the vital work being done by businesses and the government to tackle cybercrime.

The program, featuring key voices from the industry in news-style segments, includes Keily Blair and Heather Egan Sussman from Orrick’s Cyber, Privacy and Data Innovation Group who explore the importance of breach preparation for businesses as effective defense from cyberattacks. The segment reinforces the need for businesses to have a clear and practised incident response plan in order to navigate the legal and operational minefield of a breach, and avoid regulatory action, fines and litigation risk.

Other key voices featured in the programme include:

  • Minister for Digital Infrastructure, DCMS, Matt Warman
  • City of London Police, Assistant Commissioner, Angela McLaren
  • Ciaran Martin, Founding head of National Cyber Security Centre
  • Simon Newman, Head of Cyber and Business Services, Police Crime Prevention Initiatives
