Scott Morrison is a managing associate in the Employment Law Practice Group at Orrick's Orange County office. He defends employers in all aspects of employment litigation in state and federal court and counsels on employment policies and practices that comply with applicable state and federal laws.

Scott has extensive experience defending employers in the airline and airline service industries in complex wage-and-hour class action litigation on matters involving the Railway Labor Act, Airline Deregulation Act, Dormant Commerce Clause, and doctrines of field and conflict preemption. He has also defended employers in the retail, healthcare, grocery, and tobacco industries in litigation involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage-and-hour non-compliance.

Scott's practice also involves regular advice and counseling. He advises clients on compliance with applicable employment laws, including employee handbook and personnel policies; terminations, reductions in force, and WARN Act compliance; requests for accommodations; and leaves of absence. In addition, Scott has experience reviewing various employment contracts, including non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, invention assignment agreements, and binding arbitration agreements.

Before practicing law, Scott clerked in Las Vegas for The Honorable Jennifer Dorsey of the District of Nevada. Scott earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law, where he was an Associate Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review, teaching assistant for Advanced Legal Writing, and member of the Trial Advocacy Team.

Scott is an avid snowboarder and enjoys spending time with his husband and their three dogs, Apollo, Atlas, and Riley.
