Exein reached a $1.7 billion valuation after a new $270 million financing round led by Headline, officially joining the ranks of Italian unicorns.

Sofina, Goldman Sachs, the European Investment Bank (through the European Tech Champions Initiative), KfW Capital and T.Capital (the corporate venture capital arm of Deutsche Telekom) and multiple existing investors participated in the oversubscribed round.

THE COMPANIES

Exein is a global leader in Physical AI cybersecurity headquartered in Italy with a mission to secure the rapidly expanding connected systems, where over 90% of firmware is vulnerable.‍

Headline is a venture capital investor with representations on the ground in eight cities around the world. They invest across geographies, stages, and sectors, from consumer and fintech to infrastructure and software.

THE IMPACT

Exein is also developing a proprietary foundation model trained on telemetry collected from more than 2 billion devices to create autonomous security agents capable of identifying and countering cyber threats at machine speed.

The financing will support Exein’s expansion in the United States and Asia-Pacific region, and cybersecurity solutions development for Physical AI. Physical AI protects robots, drones, autonomous vehicles and other systems operating in the physical world.
