Orrick advised China’s AEONMED Group, a leading research, development and production company for anesthesia and respiration equipment, on the acquisition of German medical device manufacturer Heyer Medical AG.

The acquisition took place during the course of the restructuring of Heyer Medical AG, which was brought to a successful end in late March 2020.

Founded in 2001, Beijing-based AOENMED Group has become one of the leading R&D and manufacturers of anesthesia, mechanical ventilation medical devices and other solutions for operating rooms. In addition to its German subsidiary in Düsseldorf, the company also has establishments in the U.S., India, Indonesia and Mexico, and exports to more than 130 countries and regions worldwide.

Heyer Medical AG, based in Bad Ems, Rhineland-Palatinate, is a leading medical device manufacturer with more than 130 years of experience in healthcare technology. The company, which focuses on the manufacture of anesthesia machines and medical ventilators, has offices in China, Malaysia, India, Saudi Arabia and the U.S., and markets its products to 80 countries worldwide.

AOENMED Group was advised by an Orrick team led by Düsseldorf-based M&A and private equity partner Wilhelm Nolting-Hauff, who regularly advises Chinese companies on their investments in Germany.
