Paris Restructuring and Employment Teams Receive Top Rankings in France

March.16.2017

The French legal magazine Option Droit et Affaires highly rates Orrick’s Paris restructuring and employment teams in its March 2017 restructuring rankings.

For the second consecutive year, Option Droit et Affaires ranks our Paris restructuring team as Band 1 for both Collective Proceedings (including safeguards, legal remedies and judicial liquidations) and Difficulty Prevention and Debt Renegotiation. The team was involved in the largest restructurings in France last year, including advising Blue Mountain on the €1.5 billion debt restructuring of Vivarte; Amber Capital, Monarch and Farallon on the €900 million restructuring of SoLocal Group; Crédit Agricole on the €332.6 million debt restructuring of the Agripole Group; and a pool of 10 banks in the €130 million debt restructuring of the Ludendo Group.

Our Paris employment team made its debut in the rankings this year at Band 2, with the arrival of Emmanuel Bénard noted as the “major move of the year.” A few of the team’s highlights in 2016 include advising global snack and confectionary company on the sale of its gum candy divisions; advising a major pharmaceutical group on the restructuring of its sales force; and assisting with the large-scale reorganizations of two major financial institutions.

Option Droit et Affaires’ rankings cover the time period of January 2016 to January 2017 and are based on legal innovation and client service, technical skills and workload.
