Orrick was honored as Law Firm of the Year by Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto (CLSEPA) at the 2017 CLSEPA 15 Anniversary Gala and Fundraiser on June 23, 2017. CLSEPA singled out Orrick for the firm’s “outstanding provision of pro bono services to the low income community.”
CLSEPA’s mission is to provide legal services that enable diverse communities in East Palo Alto and beyond to achieve a secure and thriving future. Our teams have handled numerous matters for CLSEPA clients, including winning a Ninth Circuit appeal for a detained immigrant seeking asylum, co-counseling an impact case for low-income tenants threatened with eviction on the eve of a rent control vote, representing victims of serious crime in preparing and prosecuting UVisas that grant lawful immigration status to those clients, and staffing CLSEPA's housing clinic and Small Business workshops.
