Nicole is an experienced trial attorney and appellate advocate who has represented private and public entities on appeal and in high impact litigation in federal and state courts. She has a track record of providing clients with thoughtful guidance, effective writing, and strategic representation on complex and high profile matters at all stages of litigation, including in the United States Supreme Court.
Prior to joining Orrick, Nicole served as a Bristow Fellow in the United States Office of the Solicitor General, and worked as a trial and appellate litigator for several leading national law firms, She has also served as a Deputy Attorney General in the California Department of Justice and as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of California, where she represented the United States as the lead attorney in over 70 criminal appeals.
Nicole received her J.D. from U.C. Berkeley School of Law, where she received the Thelen Marin Prize for Academic Achievement. She clerked for Judge William A. Fletcher of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Melissa works with the firms various practice groups to increase efficiency and reduce costs for client services. Her work is primarily transactional, concentrating predominantly on financing matters. Her project portfolio encompasses a spectrum of tasks, including M&A due diligence reviews, capitalization table audits, corporate audits, and various projects associated with disclosure obligations.
Prior to joining Orrick, Melissa dedicated her practice to real estate and the intricacies of oil and gas law, specifically within the Appalachian Basin.

He also advises lenders and financial institutions in relation to the development, acquisition, financing and refinancing of energy and transport infrastructure including airports and toll roads.
He also some experience in advising on financial and corporate transactions, including investments in share capital and the establishment of joint ventures with a particular focus on the environmental transition sector, and specific expertise in matters related to the plastics industry.
He adopts a practical, client-focused approach, combined with considerable expertise in assessing complex Italian legal issues.

Lars works with VCs, as well as corporate venture capital investors on their investments in German start-ups and scale-ups.
Prior to joining Orrick, Lars worked as an inhouse lawyer at a global communications and advertising group of companies.

Eugenio has experience in a broad range of corporate law matters, including complex group reorganizations across multiple jurisdictions and joint ventures. Eugenio has advised on deals for strategic investors and private equity houses in a variety of sectors including, energy, oil& gas, industrials, automotive, composite materials, food and technology.

Tyler structures and negotiates a broad range of strategic transactions on behalf of sponsors, investors and lenders, including tax equity, cash equity, and debt financings, tax credit transfers, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures at both the company and project levels. He also negotiates project contracts for renewable energy projects and transactions with respect to the financing and development of satellites, data centers and other digital infrastructure assets.

With an extensive experience and a deep understanding of the real estate market, Francesco regularly advises national and international institutional investors, funds, developers and managers in the context of real estate purchases and sales, contributions in real estate funds, development transactions and in the management and coordination of complex domestic and cross-border portfolio transactions, in all asset classes, including logistics, office, hospitality & leisure (including camping), residential, student housing and retail.
Throughout his career, Francesco has also assisted clients in the management, commercializaton and development of their real estate assets, in connection with corporate leases and rentals, private contracts, management agreements and all types of real estate service contracts.

Mark assists office holders across a broad range of asset recovery actions, including investigations into antecedent transactions and other claims against directors and third parties, as well as advising directors defending such claims. Mark has deep experience in enforcement work on behalf of banks and lenders including Law of Property Act receiverships.
Mark's non-contentious work includes significant experience on transactional matters such as assisting on both the buy and sell side of 'pre-pack' administration sales and other insolvency sales, advising on restructuring options for companies in distress including voluntary arrangements, schemes, and consensual restructuring proposals as well as advisory work assisting companies and their directors on the duties they have when facing financial difficulties.

Prior to joining Orrick, Payam was a Principal Engineer at Skyworks Solutions, where he worked on the design and optimization of next-generation radio frequency front-ends for mobile and IoT devices, electromagnetic interference analysis and module design. He also served as a Principal Engineer at GlobalFoundries, developing automotive radar and wireless transceiver building blocks and supporting IP strategy through invention disclosures and cross-functional R&D initiatives. During his time at GlobalFoundries, Payam was involved in securing a $217M design win as part of a collaborative team.
Payam received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University and his MSc from the University of Illinois Chicago. He was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Irvine, working on RF and analog integrated circuits for cellular applications.

He represents issuers and underwriters of tax-exempt bonds to finance a variety of public facilities and programs, including water and power systems, airports, schools, rental housing loan programs and homeownership loan programs.
Stan has served as a lecturer and panelist on a variety of programs concerning state and local government debt issuance. He also served for ten years as one of the original members of the Technical Advisory Committee of the California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission.
Stan also has a long history of involvement in the governance of nonprofit education, arts and other charitable organizations.

Some of Jade’s notable clients include the City of Los Angeles, the State of California, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, the Port of Los Angeles, and The Broad, as well as some of the most active underwriters in the market.
She has recently been recognized by Bloomberg Law’s They’ve Got Next: 40 Under 40, as well as a Rising Star by The Bond Buyer and as one of the Women of Influence by The Los Angeles Business Journal. She is also actively involved in community development, serving on the board of directors of GRID110, a nonprofit focused on supporting early-stage entrepreneurs in Los Angeles.
Previously, Jade served as legal counsel to the California State Treasurer’s office.
