Orrick advised client Planet Labs Inc. on an agreement to acquire Terra Bella Technologies (formerly known as SkySat) of Google. The terms of the deal were undisclosed and the transaction is subject to the customary regulatory approval.
Google, meanwhile, will enter into a multi-year contract to purchase Earth-imaging data from Planet upon closing of the deal. Planet is an earth-imaging satellite startup based in San Francisco.
“I can speak for everyone at Planet when I say that we’re incredibly excited about this opportunity,” Planet CEO Will Marshall said in a statement.
