Frequently Asked Questions

What is a “FinCEN identifier?”

A FinCEN identifier is a unique identifying number that FinCEN issues to individuals upon request at this website after the individual provides certain information to FinCEN.  When a company is making a report of its beneficial owners, instead of providing detailed person information for each beneficial owner, the company can include in its report with respect to a particular beneficial owner, a “FinCEN identifier” provided by such individual.
