Orrick Advises Excelsior Energy Capital in its Acquisition of 109 MW Operating Wind Portfolio

Orrick represented renewable energy investor Excelsior Energy Capital in its acquisition of 90.1% of Invenergy’s sponsor equity interests in the combined 109 MW Prairie Breeze II and Prairie Breeze III wind projects in Antelope and Boone Counties, Nebraska. This transaction, which is expected to close in December 2019, continues Excelsior’s strategy to expand their portfolio of high-quality renewable energy assets.

The projects currently have 25-year power purchase agreements with Lincoln Energy Systems and the City of Grand Island. Invenergy will remain as a non-controlling part-owner and will continue to provide Operations & Maintenance and Asset Management.
