On Thursday 19 September 2019, Orrick Milan, together with GP Bullhound, a leading digital technology advisory and investment firm, hosted the first “Tech Talks Milan” held at innovation hub Le Village by CA Milano.
The event brought together the investor community and some of the most exciting Italian private, pre-IPO and public companies that are leading the charge in the next wave of Technology and Innovation in Italy.
The day was opened with the remarks of Attilio Mazzilli, head of the Italian tech department, and Alessandro Casartelli, Director at GP Bullhound, who introduced two successful stories in the Italian market: Facile.it, the market leader in the Italian price comparison market, and Octo Telematics, the leading provider of IoT and telematics solutions for insurance carriers, automotive companies, and mobility providers.
These keynote presentations were followed by a panel of international investors such as Luca Bocchio (Accel), Christian Resch (Goldman Sachs), Antonio Avitabile (Sony Innovation Fund) and Luca Colciago (Kreos Capital) who, moderated by Shawn Atkinson, discussed their successful investment experiences in the Italian lively market.
The discussion ended with the presentation of five Italian scale-ups (brumbrum, Credimi, DoveConviene, Musixmatch and Safety21) followed by an animated Q&A session.
The day ended with a cocktail in the amazing cloister of Le Village, an ancient 14th century monastery recently renewed by Credit Agricole.
