NYLJ Recognizes Orrick with 2021 Innovation Award

New York Law Journal has named Orrick among the three most innovative law firms in the New York market. The firm is praised for “pushing the envelope during unprecedented times” – including on the basis of The Observatory, a unique resource for anyone interested in legal innovation, created by Wendy Curtis and our Innovation Team. In a feature with the NYLJ, Wendy said, "COVID-19 accelerated innovation and increased our creativity in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Despite the difficulty we all face, in many ways we’re more connected, more creative and more invested in our culture of inclusion and transformation."

The publication also singles out Orrick’s Chief Talent Officer Siobhan Handley among a dozen of New York’s most innovative law firm leaders for her work supporting top talent and sustaining an inclusive culture during these extraordinary times. NYLJ also recognizes Dan Mathews with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his impact in the infrastructure sector. “Considered one of the founding fathers of Public-Private Partnerships (P3s) in the United States, Dan has spent the last 20 years solving for our country’s most critical infrastructure needs,” wrote Orrick partner Young Lee in an article profiling him. “Dan’s intellect, uncanny business acumen and creative drive are legendary among clients and counterparties alike.”
