Orrick Advises Microsoft on $7.5 Billion GitHub Acquisition

Microsoft acquired San Francisco-based GitHub in a $7.5 billion all-stock deal that closed on October 26, 2018. The acquisition will enable the two companies to empower developers to achieve more at every stage of the development lifecycle, accelerate enterprise use of GitHub and bring Microsoft’s developer tools and services to new audiences. Our antitrust team guided Microsoft through the U.S. regulatory process and assisted with the European review.
