Michael Trentin, Senior Associate in Orrick’s Restructuring Group, focuses on representing lenders, including banks and private credit funds, in complex restructuring matters.

Michael has been recognized as a Rising Star in Bankruptcy by Super Lawyers since 2021. He has significant experience guiding lenders through the full spectrum of distressed situations, including negotiating forbearances and amendments, advising on out-of-court workouts and liability management exercises, enforcing remedies through foreclosure actions, and navigating in-court restructurings. He also represents creditors and creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 cases.

Beyond his core restructuring practice, Michael is an avid litigator who handles contentious matters in bankruptcy courts, chancery courts and federal district courts.

Before entering private practice, Michael served as a law clerk in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
