Jose Lamarque focuses on commercial and intellectual property-focused contract drafting, negotiation, and legal advice for technology companies across industries and represents technology companies in matters, buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions and financing.
Jose assists technology companies with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer, vendor, partner, end-user, and other contracts for a variety of products and services, including software, cloud service and software-as-a-service offerings. He advises companies on open source software usage, including developing and implementing internal open source policies and advising on risk and remediation for potentially problematic software components. Jose also advises clients on the procurement and negotiation of artificial intelligence (AI) contracts, development of AI tools and technologies, and AI strategy and risk assessments.
Jose received his JD from Harvard Law School in 2017. Before joining Orrick, Jose was an attorney at Debevoise & Plimpton, working on various intellectual property, data privacy and security, and transactional matters.
