Patrik is a qualified German tax advisor* (Steuerberater) and advises clients such as private equity funds, financial institutions and corporates on German tax and accounting issues.

His work includes advising on tax structuring, especially in the context of M&A, private equity and venture transactions as well as restructurings. He also advises in the context of international tax protocols, in particular with respect to CFC rules, withholding tax issues and compliance activities such as TP documentation, Country-by-Country Reporting and DAC6.

Prior to joining Orrick, Patrik had been with an MDAX company for more than three years as Director Tax / International Tax Structuring. Before that he worked in the tax group of an international law firm for more than four years, first as a paralegal and later on as a tax advisor.

    • U.S. private equity investor on the tax aspects of the restructuring of a German portfolio company with about 10,000 employees.
    • UK-based private equity firm on the tax aspects of the acquisition of a German nursing group.
    • European investor on the tax aspects for the voluntary takeover offer for an Eastern European entertainment group.
    • Tax aspects of a private inheritance case with the complete estate valued around €200 million.
