E. & J. Gallo Winery, a premier global producer of wines and spirits, has entered into a definitive agreement with a subsidiary of Kirin Holdings Company, Limited to acquire Four Roses Distillery, LLC, a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey brand.

E. & J. Gallo Winery, founded in 1933 in Modesto, California, by brothers Ernest and Julio Gallo, is the world’s largest family-owned winery and a premier global producer of wines and spirits. It operates across the entire value chain, exporting to over 100 countries with a diverse portfolio of over 100 brands, ranging from affordable to luxury labels.
Four Roses Distillery, LLC is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey brand established in 1888, known for its distinct, mellow, and fruity flavor profiles. Based in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, the distillery features unique Spanish Mission-style architecture, with maturation and bottling occurring at their facility in Cox’s Creek, Kentucky.
“As we move through the regulatory process and await a closing date, we’re incredibly excited about this acquisition and the opportunity to welcome Four Roses into our portfolio,” Gallo said in a statement.
