Spiritus has entered a strategic partnership with Prometheus Hyperscale and Casper Carbon Capture to develop a pioneering carbon-negative digital infrastructure campus in Wyoming. The project is expected to involve an initial investment of at least $500 million and deliver up to 1.5 GW of IT-ready capacity, making it one of the largest AI-focused infrastructure developments in the Rocky Mountain region.

THE COMPANY

Spiritus is a technology company focused on delivering firm, lifecycle net zero, carbon-negative electricity for power-intensive customers. Its Orchard Power platform pairs high-efficiency natural gas generation with integrated carbon capture technologies to deliver reliable, carbon-negative electricity that neutralizes all emissions across the entire energy lifecycle.

THE IMPACT

Designed to meet accelerating demand for AI compute capacity, the project integrates high-density data infrastructure, on-site carbon-negative power and permanent carbon sequestration, embedding carbon removal at the core of the development.

The development is projected to create hundreds of construction jobs and dozens of long-term technical positions once operational, while also expanding the tax base through new property, utility and infrastructure revenues for Natrona and Converse Counties.

"AI companies can't wait years for power. By partnering with Prometheus, we're delivering firm capacity to meet the urgency the market demands. Orchard Power gives tenants reliable, affordable, carbon negative electricity at hyperscale, when and where it's needed," said Charles Cadieu, CEO and co-founder of Spiritus.

THE TEAM

Orrick’s Brad Gathright and Patrick Ferguson led the team that advised Spiritus. The team also included Monica Molina.
