Congratulations to Orrick litigation partner Cathy Lui on being selected as a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s (LCLD) 2020 Fellows Program, a landmark initiative to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession. The Legal 500 recognized Cathy as a "Next Generation Lawyer" in trade secrets. The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association also recently honored Cathy as a 2019 Best Lawyer Under 40.
“I am so grateful that Orrick is supporting me as the 2020 LCLD Fellow,” said Cathy. “Orrick’s long-time support of LCLD is a testament to our firm’s strong commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. I left our first Fellows meeting inspired by the people I met - all leaders in our legal community working towards the common goal of advancing diversity and inclusion and transforming our industry for the better.”
The LCLD Fellows Program, which has trained more than 1,600 mid-career attorneys since 2011, is one of LCLD’s most important initiatives. Other Orrick lawyers who have participated as LCLD Fellows since the program’s inception include Management Committee members Giji John and Tony Kim, newly promoted partner Jennifer Lee, Warrington Parker, Nexus Sea, Will Stute, Co-Chair of Diversity & Inclusion Darren Teshima, and Chris Wilkinson.
In addition, Senior Associates Roland Chang and Rachelle Navarro have been selected to participate in the 2020 LCLD Pathfinders program, which trains high-performing, up and coming lawyers in critical career development strategies, including leadership skills and the building of professional networks.
Roland Chang represents foreign and domestic clients in connection with government enforcement actions, FCPA compliance monitorships, internal investigations, and criminal and civil litigation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area, one of the largest minority bar associations in the country.
Rachelle Navarro represents financial institutions, corporations and individuals in white collar criminal defense, internal investigations and litigation. She currently serves on the editorial board for the ABA’s Litigation Journal.
Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 300 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession. Chairman Mitch Zuklie currently serves on the Board of LCLD.
