Online Webinar

The Court of Justice of the European Union’s (CJEU) Schrems II ruling turned international data transfers upside down and left companies wondering if they could transfer data across borders and what they needed to do to comply. Cyber, Privacy & Data Innovation Group partners Dr. Christian Schröder and Shannon Yavorsky will join representatives from the Bavarian data protection authority (Germany) who are engaged in the discussions on the EU level for a briefing on international data transfers to address recent developments and answer pressing questions. Hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany, the panelists will provide an overview of the requirements, discuss specific measures companies can take to comply and clarify concerns about international data transfers, including:

  • What do companies have to consider in light of the Schrems II ruling?
  • What practical measures should be taken?
  • Do all data need to remain in the EU or can US service providers still be used?
