Dr. Fabian von Samson-Himmelstjerna, a partner in Orrick’s Munich office, is a member of the M&A and Private Equity Group. He focuses his practice on private and public M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital, with an emphasis on cross-border transactions.
Fabian represents German and international financial institutions, corporate entities and financial investors, in particular on acquisitions and divestitures, public takeovers, joint ventures, carve-outs and portfolio transactions. He has specific industry expertise in the banking and financial services sector, in the engineering and automotive business as well as in the renewable energy sector.
Prior to joining Orrick, Fabian practiced with another leading international law firm. In 2012/13, Fabian was seconded to Deutsche Bank, where he worked on various cross-border M&A and integration projects.
Thomas Schmid, partner in the Munich Office and head of Orrick's German M&A and private equity team, advises on M&A, private equity and venture capital investments.
Thomas represents clients in national and cross-border transactions, in particular local and international corporates, private equity/venture funds and high growth companies.
He has advised transactions in all sectors but has developed particular expertise in the tech and lifescience/healthcare area.
His practice also covers also capital markets, restructuring and general corporate/commercial matters.
Thomas is consistently recognized as leading lawyer in his practice in Germany.
Prior to joining Orrick, he was, inter alia, a partner in the Munich office of an international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and Inhouse Counsel at MAN AG.
Christine is dedicated to help her clients in achieving the financings that best meet their business needs and provide flexibility for future developments. Christine provides her clients with comprehensive legal advice combined with a deep understanding of the economics of the deal and actual needs. Clients benefit from her long-standing transaction experience and deep market insights.
Christine’s work is focused on Banking and Finance. She advises on complex national and international financings in private equity transactions and in particular on acquisition financings and re-financings. Christine has also advised on a considerable number of financial restructurings.
Her clients mainly include large private equity firms as well as their portfolio companies from various industries.
Christine is being recognized for her banking & finance work by national and international publications such as leading German business daily Handelsblatt or IFLR1000.
Christine studied law in Heidelberg, Passau and Mannheim and obtained her Master‘s Degree (LL.M.) at the University of Waikato/New Zealand.
Jörg Ritter, a partner in the Munich office, is a member of the Corporate Group. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investments, corporate litigation, German and international tax law and bankruptcy law.
Jörg represents clients in all types of corporate transactions and litigation, including international venture capital and private equity funds as well as a variety of family offices.
Prior to joining Orrick, Jörg was a partner in the Munich office of an international U.S.-headquartered law firm.
Christoph has profound experience in advising clients on public and private M&A and venture transactions, international group reorganizations. His particular focus lies on stock corporation law, board advice and corporate governance aspects.
Prior to joining Orrick, Christoph was Managing Associate at the Frankfurt and Munich offices of Linklaters LLP.
