Emma advises both a national and international client base on all aspects of employment law including contentious, advisory and transactional matters.

Emma has experience in drafting and negotiating employment contracts, consultancy agreements and settlement agreements, as well as staff handbooks and policies. She has extensive experiences in conducting and resolving employment litigation in both the Employment Tribunal and the High Court. She also advises on the employment aspects of data protection matters.

    • Handled a variety of employment tribunal claims relating to unfair dismissal, discrimination and/or whistleblowing for a range of respondent clients including a high-value whistleblowing dispute for an asset management company, alongside concurrent High Court proceedings and a significant disability discrimination claim for a client in the insurance sector.
    • Prepared and attended a mediation in relation to an age discrimination claim for an organisation in the insurance sector.
    • Advised an organisation in the technology sector on a significant change to its benefits offering, including collective consultation and the changing of terms and conditions by way of dismissal and re-engagement.
    • Assisted an American investment bank and other financial services clients with the regulatory impact of employee misconduct and the interplay between disciplinary action and any regulatory sanctions.
    • Advised a global investment management firm on conduct of a grievance relating to alleged maternity and sex discrimination.
    • Advised an organisation in the education sector on a merger of two departments and the harmonisation of terms and conditions, as well as consultation in relation to the restructure of the business model and offers of suitable alternative employment.
    • Named as a key adviser and co-counsel to lead Corporate counsel on the employment aspects of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation's sale of its European Rentals business to Platinum Equity.
    • Assisted an online publishing company with a series of complex disposals of certain publishing brands to separate buyers, including the implication of TUPE on its shared services personnel.
    • Advised an American software company on the employment implications of a business carve-out which involved an intra-group hive down prior to sale.
    • Advised a number of clients on the employment aspects of acquisitions of businesses out of insolvency or via pre-pack administrations, most recently assisting with a bid for a nightclub chain via a pre-pack administration.
