Orrick Advises Multiple Joint Ventures Related to Large-Scale Wind Projects (including offshore) in Northern Japan

The Japan Energy team has respectively advised Green Power Investment (GPI) and Invenergy Wind GK (Invenergy) in relation to their joint venture agreements with Tohoku Electric Power Co., Ltd., one of the major utilities in Japan.

These joint ventures will enable the continuation of the development of three projects from GPI, the 480MW Tsugaru Offshore Wind Power project, the 70MW Fukaura Wind Power project and the 100MW Inaniwa Takko Wind Power project in Aomori and Iwate Prefectures, and the development of Invenergy’s 102MW Inaniwa Wind Project in Iwate Prefecture.

Orrick has been continuously advising GPI and Invenergy in their renewable projects and will continue to advise the JV parties in the development and financing of all of the above projects.

The team includes Yoichi Katayama, Minako Wakabayashi, Yuko Inui, Jae-Hyon Ahn, Kentaro Shoji and Gohshun Kawamura.
