Caitlin Burke is a member of the Cyber, Privacy & Data Innovation team, where she advises clients on U.S. and international data privacy, artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technology matters.
Caitlin counsels companies across the technology ecosystem on data privacy law, online safety, global data protection frameworks and AI governance issues. She also contributes to transactional and product counseling matters involving data use, algorithmic systems and digital product design.
Prior to joining Orrick, Caitlin earned a Ph.D. from Stanford University, where her doctoral research examined the intersection of products liability law, Section 230 and First Amendment doctrine as applied to social media and AI-driven platforms. She also worked previously as a product manager and UX designer, giving practical insight into how digital products are built and deployed.
