Leon Diederichs advises and represents clients in complex national and international arbitration proceedings and before German courts.

Leon is a trilingual disputes lawyer educated in Germany and England, who handles complex commercial disputes, post-M&A litigation, and antitrust damages claims. He advises and represents clients in the technology, infrastructure, and energy sectors, handling high-value cases in the German courts and under the major arbitration rules including the ICC, DIS, and VIAC.

Leon also has experience in cross-border litigation including between parties from, inter alia, the U.S., France, the Netherlands, Italy, Mexico, Switzerland and Germany, and antitrust law (merger control, market dominance cases, investigations, compliance, etc.) and delivers strategic solutions for clients facing intricate legal and regulatory challenges both in Germany and internationally.

    • Representing a leading U.S. petrochemical corporation in German antitrust damages claims against cartel-forming companies.
    • Advising a global Tier 2 automotive supplier in international commercial disputes relating to the sale of goods to customers in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the U.S. and Mexico.
    • Part of the team that represented Aeonmed in first successful action against ministerial prohibition to acquire Heyer in the German history of Foreign Direct Investment law (see: https://www.orrick.com/en/News/2023/11/Orrick-represents-AEONMED-in-successful-action-against-ministerial-prohibition-to-acquire-Heyer).
    • Representing a German technology SME in a dispute over unfair employee poaching and competitive practices.
    • Advising a German machine manufacturer in various international (e.g., with Italian and Indonesian customers) and German commercial disputes relating to the sale of machinery.
    • Advising a Chinese electronics manufacturer on multi-stakeholder insurance claims after a warehouse fire.
    • Representing a private client and his foundation in multi-court litigation in Germany, involving large real estate portfolios.
