  • Zaid Mansour joins Orrick’s Energy & Infrastructure team in Düsseldorf.
  • Zaid advises leading energy companies, utilities and investors on project development and regulatory matters. He brings deep experience in M&A and project finance and has worked on technologies including liquefied natural gas, hydrogen, offshore wind, solar and battery storage projects.
  • This follows the firm’s hire of a four-lawyer M&A team in Munich – led by Michael Prüssner and Benjamin Schikora – in December. It also continues the growth of Orrick’s European Energy & Infrastructure team, which added nine partners in four European markets in 2025.
  • Zaid joins from Clifford Chance.

“We are excited to add Zaid’s top-quality expertise to our team,” said Düsseldorf-based Energy & Infrastructure partner Werner Brickwedde. “His command of complex regulatory frameworks and commercial contracts will be an incredible asset to our clients.”

“We are thrilled to continue the growth of our energy practice in a way that connects with the firm’s global strengths, particularly in renewables,” said Stefan Schultes-Schnitzlein, co-leader, with Christoph Brenner, of Orrick’s German offices.

“I look forward to reuniting with Werner and to collaborating with my new colleagues across Orrick’s global Energy & Infrastructure platform to support clients on their most sophisticated, cross-border projects,” Zaid said.

Orrick was named a 2025 Energy Practice Group of the Year by Law360. The firm acts for four of the top 10 oil & gas majors, 60 of the top 100 energy & infrastructure investors globally and half of the top 50 renewables sponsors worldwide.
