Adam Moncrieff Joins Orrick Building Out the Firm’s Full-Service Asia Energy Platform

• Adam Moncrieff, a Chambers Band 1-ranked energy and infrastructure projects advisor in Vietnam and the Asia region, joins Orrick as a partner based in Singapore.
• He brings deep experience in large and complex energy and infrastructure projects involving every type of technology (including mining, transportation, telecoms and water), with particular expertise in the whole natural gas value chain, including upstream natural gas, liquefied natural gas and gas-to-power. Adam also has considerable experience in renewable energy and energy transition.
• Adam joins from A&O Shearman and follows the additions of project finance advisors Michael Tardif, Ari Bessendorf and Deska Widianto, who joined Orrick from that firm in Singapore last year. With the addition of Adam, the firm will offer full-service support from Singapore and Tokyo for Asia’s growing energy project development and finance market.
• Adam has acted for some of the largest Japanese companies and development banks, including JBIC, NEXI and leading trading houses, and will collaborate with Orrick’s market-leading Tokyo energy team. His other recent clients include Export-Import Bank of Korea, IFC, Asian Development Bank, Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank, KEPCO, GS Energy, Sembcorp, DBS Bank, VinaCapital, Tokyo Gas, Vena Energy, JERA, and other regional conglomerates and sponsors in Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and Southeast Asia.
• Adam, who has practiced and lived in the Asia region for the past 28 years, will relocate from Vietnam to Orrick’s Singapore office.

Adam’s recent experience includes advising the developers on various BOT and new generation gas thermal power projects in Vietnam, advising developers and lenders on various renewable energy projects in Vietnam and other ASEAN countries as well as investors in various power including renewables sector assets regionally.
