Marie-Laure Combet Partner

Marie-Laure advises clients on all aspects of French and European competition law and on all types of cases in these areas (i.e., audit/compliance, advice, merger control and administrative proceedings before the French Competition Authority and the European Commission as well as litigation before French and European courts).

Over the years, Marie-Laure has also developed significant experience in state aid matters. She has thus worked on several landmark cases mainly in the banking, air transport and energy sectors.

Prior to joining Orrick, Marie-Laure was Counsel in the Paris office of Clifford Chance.

Emily Luken Senior Associate

Emily’s practice focuses on issues at the intersection of antitrust and intellectual property, with a particular emphasis on standards-essential patents (SEPs) subject to a commitment to license on fair, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory terms (FRAND). She also has experience litigating other complex commercial disputes.

Prior to law school, Emily worked as a research assistant and project coordinator at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.
