Congratulations to employment partners Lynne Hermle and Jessica Perry for being named American Lawyer’s Litigator of the Week for their recent back-to-back wins for Microsoft and Twitter in major gender discrimination cases.
In this feature, American Lawyer highlights the successful efforts by Lynne and Jess to persuade two separate judges to reject bids for class certification of gender bias claims against Microsoft and Twitter in the span of less than two weeks. As the headline observed, “This Dream Team is on a roll.”
These were crucial decisions defusing major litigation threats to both companies, which have aggressively been working to address and improve gender issues in the workplace. In both instances, Lynne and Jess led arguments establishing that there simply isn’t a factual or legal basis for the cases to proceed as class actions.
This is Lynne’s third recognition for Litigator of the Week by American Lawyer. Jess, leader of Orrick’s global litigation practice, is a partner in the firm’s employment group, which has been named The Recorder’s Employment Department of the Year four times.
