Orrick congratulates employment partner Lauri Damrell on being named to the Sacramento Business Journal’s 2016 40 Under 40 list. The annual feature honors Sacramento’s brightest rising stars across a wide range of industries.
A member of Orrick’s Employment Law Group, Lauri has established herself throughout Sacramento, the state and nationally as a sought-after expert and thought leader in the important area of gender discrimination and pay equity. Lauri has extensive experience in complex litigation and counseling involving wage-and-hour laws, independent contractors, exempt/non-exempt classifications, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and other employment regulations.
The Sacramento Business Journal earlier this year named Lauri to its annual “Best of the Bar” list, which highlights outstanding lawyers in the greater Sacramento area. California Governor Jerry Brown appointed Lauri to the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls and she recently collaborated with state Labor Commissioner Julie Su on an Op Ed column for the San Jose Mercury News discussing the launch of a Pay Equity Task Force to encourage more cooperation between employers and employees in finding solutions to the high-profile issue.
