Fagerhult, a Swedish company listed in the stock exchange which manufactures lighting solutions, has acquired LED Linear GmbH as well as its shares in joint venture companies in the USA, France, the UK, Switzerland, Singapore, India and the United Arab Emirates. Fagerhult was successful in the auction process.
The volume of this transaction was in the mid double figure million amount.
Fagerhult develops, manufactures and merchandises lighting solutions for public buildings such as schools, office blocks and hospitals. The company employs about 2,600 people and has offices in approximately 20 countries around the world, including in Germany.
LED Linear GmbH, based in Neukirchen-Vluyn, was established in 2006 and manufactures linear LED lighting fixtures, LED modules and other lighting fixture components.
Orrick advised Fagerhult for the first time and was invited by a personal contact to make a bid for the mandate. Competing with another German law firm Orrick won the bid and was engaged by Fagerhult.
Orrick cooperates regularly with Allen & Gledhill in Singapore and Afridi & Angell in the United Arab Emirates in international projects. Konstantin Heitmann, the leading partner in this transaction, has personal contacts to the Indian law office DGS Associates.
