Three Orrick Partners Recognized Among Top Employment Lawyers

July.16.2014

Lynne Hermle, Andrew Livingston and Tim Long were selected by Daily Journal as top California employment lawyers. This annual feature recognizes lawyers for achieving victories in important cases and distinguishing themselves as leaders in the labor and employment practice areas.

Named to the list for the past four years, Hermle's feature this year cited a victory against a class-action case on behalf of Morgan Stanley as well as the summary judgment on behalf of International Paper in a certified class action. Silicon Valley-based Hermle has a long track record of defeating class certification, obtaining summary judgment and winning high-profile jury trials on behalf of industry-leading clients.

Honored for the third time in four years, Livingston's feature included his successful representation of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in a complex contract and discrimination case. San Francisco-based Livingston is the Deputy Practice Group Leader of Orrick’s Global Employment Law Group, a group that was named Labor & Employment Department of the Year in California by The Recorder in recognition of their significant wins on behalf of leading multinational companies on today’s most complex and challenging employment law matters.

Major victories on behalf of CVS earned Long a place on the list. His feature cited the “puzzling questions” about California’s wage order regarding seated workplaces his cases have brought up including the question, “Who should be able to sit down at work?” Sacramento and LA-based Long has significant experience litigating complex employment matters, having acted as lead counsel in numerous class, collective and representative actions and advised on dozens more.
