Young Lee Recognized as a Law360 Rising Star

April.09.2013

Orrick energy and infrastructure partner Young Lee has been recognized by Law360 as a Rising Star in the practice area of project finance. Ms. Lee was one of five project finance attorneys under the age of 40 honored by Law360 this year.

As noted by Law360, Ms. Lee was acknowledged for her work as co-lead counsel on two novel, complex public-private transportation financings that took place in 2012. The first was a $1.5 billion financing for a 58-year concession that would build and operate a new tolled tunnel in Norfolk, Va., only the second privatized tunnel in the country. The second project was a deal for Transurban Inc. and Fluor, who had won a 76-year contract to finance, build, operate and maintain 29 miles of demand-based tolled lanes on I-95, the notoriously congested stretch of highway between Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia.

“When I saw that Young had been selected as a Rising Star my first thought was that 'rising' wasn't quite the right word — Young is a star already,” said Dan Mathews, co-head of Orrick's Energy and Infrastructure Group, to Law360. “She is a trusted adviser to some of our most important clients, able to take a lead role in very complicated transactions.”

Law360 editors reviewed close to 1,000 nominees to arrive at the Rising Stars list of attorneys, whose work spans 23 different practice areas.
