Employment partner Gary Siniscalco was recently interviewed by Law360 about how companies can establish and maintain cross-border anti-bias employment policies.
“Generally, most multinationals want to have a set of values and philosophies that apply across their whole platform, particularly where you have so much movement among employees,” said Siniscalco.
A global policy on discrimination and harassment should be built from the ground up and rest on the foundation of a strong understanding of local requirements and obligations, he added, going on to note the importance of touching base with local attorneys to get the lay of the land.
“Make sure you've talked to local counsel in every jurisdiction where you're operating.”
