New: We’re excited to announce the expansion of Orrick’s acclaimed Greenhouse program as a new, integral component of our FLBCs. This will bring behind-closed-doors coaching tailored to the German market to a select group of fundraising deeptech teams, including the rare opportunity to trial-pitch in front of real U.S. venture capital investors. Participation is free of charge and exclusive to FLBC attendees who are at the right stage for this level of coaching. We’ll reach out directly to the FLBC participants of the next events with details on how to apply. Learn more

This is the tenth edition of Orrick’s Founder Legal Boot Camp: Together with KIT Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, University of Stuttgart Transfer Center (TRACES) and TUM Venture Labs (Munich and Heilbronn) we will bring the FLBC to the southwest, again in cooperation with RWTH Innovation and WHU Entrepreneurship Center. Having been guests at the University of Stuttgart last year, this year's FLBC Southwest is taking place at KIT Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

We share lessons learned from working with countless start-ups and focus on, amongst others:

  • Founder Team Composition and Founder Equity Split*
  • Getting Incorporated*
  • Start-up Financing Overview and Convertible Loan Financings
  • Term Sheet Deep Dive – Equity Financings
  • Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Must-Haves
  • IP Must-Haves for University Spin-offs
  • Case Studies for AI Business Models
  • Employment Law Must-Haves
  • Expensive Tax Pitfalls in the Early Stages
  • U.S. German Holding Structures and the Delaware Flip
  • Employee Stock Option Plans (Virtual Programs, Hurdle Shares and Sec. 19a EStG Shares)

*These two sessions will be covered in online-only pre-events on the evening of Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 March.
