Orrick will be hosting an interactive discussion on "Current Issues of Internal Investigations and Employee Data Privacy."

Mike Delikat, leader of Orrick’s Global Employment Law practice and also the chair of its Whistleblowing Taskforce, a  noted  expert and practitioner on cross-border internal investigations, will provide a review of the controlling law and the practical considerations from a U.S. perspective.
 
Dr. Christian Schröder, leader of the German IT/IP and data protection practice group will deal with the data protection aspect from an EU perspective.
 
Dr. André Zimmermann, leader of the German employment law practice, will address matters concerning the works council co-determination during internal investigations.
 
Additionally, the private investigator Paul Malberg will join us and talk about his practice and show us a few example cases.

Michael Delikat, a partner in the New York office, was the previous Chair of Orrick's Global Employment Law Practice for over twenty years, which has employment law teams in the European Union, Asia as well as the United States.

He also is the founder of the firm’s Whistleblower Task Force. He previously served as the Managing Director of Orrick’s Litigation Division.

Under Mike's leadership, Orrick’s Employment Law & Litigation group was recently named Labor & Employment Department of the Year in California for the fourth consecutive year by The Recorder, the premier source for legal news, in recognition of their significant wins on behalf of leading multinational companies on today’s most complex and challenging employment law matters. Dr. Christian Schröder heads Orrick's IP/IT & Data Privacy Practice Group in Germany in Orrick’s Düsseldorf Office. Christian advises medium sized (Mittelstand) companies to large multinationals on IP, Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices, E-Commerce, IT and Data Privacy/Data Protection.

Christian provides IP/IT advice in M&A transactions and advises on IP focused joint ventures. As a core member of Orrick's global Cyber, Privacy & Data Innovation practice, Christian has a special focus on data privacy/data protection matters.
