Alexandra Bursak

Alex has authored and contributed to dozens of briefs in federal courts of appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court, and joined trial teams to draft key briefs on novel legal questions. She has worked on a range of intellectual property questions, achieving victories from the frontiers of copyright's secondary liability doctrines to cases involving the DMCA to complex patent issues. She also maintains a generalist appellate practice, with work spanning matters of statutory interpretation to constitutional questions. 

Alex's scholarship has been cited by the U.S. Supreme Court. Before joining Orrick, she served as a law clerk to Judge Anthony Scirica of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Judge Cornelia Pillard of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. She received her law degree from New York University School of Law.
