Financial Times Recognizes Orrick at Innovative Lawyers Europe Awards

  • Financial Times recognized Orrick and our partner Ed Dyson for capital markets innovation at its Europe Innovative Lawyers Awards for 2023 – and commended several of the firm’s social impact initiatives to support refugees from Ukraine and Afghanistan
  • The firm ranked 12th overall and is the second highest ranked US-origin firm.

Capital markets partner Ed Dyson was recognized in the Private Capital category for his work advising Zamaz, a London-based ecommerce business on its direct listing on the London Stock Exchange, using a private investment in public equity (PIPE) to secure backing for the listing. Other team members included Ed Lukins, Charles Sheldon and Charlotte Osborne.

Orrick’s collaboration with eight other firms supporting charitable organization Safe Passage in helping Ukrainian refugees navigate the UK’s Homes for Ukraine visa scheme received a “Standout” distinction in the Supporting Refugees and Migrants category.

FT also recognized:

  • The Rule 39 Initiative, a collaboration with 6 other firms to offer pro bono support for migrants, in partnership with the Italian Coalition for Civil Liberties and Rights (CILD), as well as another collaboration with CILD and four other firms to support Afghan asylum seekers in Italy.
  • Our collaboration with 13 other firms and the charities Refugee Legal and Safe Passage and to provide legal advice to Afghan refugees in different countries on the UK’s ARAP resettlement schedule.
