Nikki Mondschein's practice focuses on counseling clients, solving problems, and making deals across virtually all sectors, including technology, software, mobile, media and entertainment.

Drawing from her creative background and experience as an in house lawyer at global technology companies, Nikki provides practical advice to both emerging and established companies on both the day-to-day and complex, evolving legal and business considerations of protecting their intellectual property rights, developing or procuring new technologies, products and services, and launching new and innovative products and services, with an emphasis on the digital and mobile space. She has experience drafting, negotiating, and counseling clients on a range of business and intellectual property agreements, including IT services, Internet infrastructure, Internet of Things (IoT), technology and software licensing and development, cloud services, content licensing and acquisition, marketing, strategic partnerships, customer terms (such as website and mobile app terms of service and privacy policies), global sourcing, and outsourcing agreements, as well as supporting cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures and on privacy and data security matters.

Prior to entering private practice, Nikki served as in house counsel at Apple and Nokia.

    • A start-up company and developer of a wearable device on drafting, negotiation and counseling on agreements across its entire supply chain, from technology and software development to wireless services to contract manufacturing to publicity to customer terms. 
    • A global hospitality and entertainment company in the acquisition and development of a digital marketing platform to support a guest experience across all digital touchpoints and on the restructuring of a $250 million IT infrastructure outsourcing agreement.
    • The oldest U.S. clothing retailer and manufacturer on its global technology, outsourcing, and application development agreements.
    • A global financial services company with the launch of its first-ever online checkout platform for card members to check out quickly at participating online merchants and on multiple agreements for the acquisition from third parties of technology functionality.
    • A multi-national engineering and electronics company on its terms of service for an interactive automotive service and mobile application.
    • A cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) provider on its business-advancing partnership with a global technology company to develop POS applications for the company's mobile operating system.
    • A mobile games company on services agreements for back-end development services and on its software evaluation license agreement.
    • Multiple arts organizations such as an international non-profit music foundation on a range of intellectual property and strategic issues as pro bono counsel.
    • As in house counsel for Apple and Nokia, counseled product engineering, design, marketing, digital music services, sourcing, manufacturing and operations teams on a range of matters, including intellectual property, technology and software licensing and development, content licensing and acquisition, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance and drafted and negotiated agreements across these areas.
