Jason Somensatto helps clients navigate complex and sensitive government investigations and related financial and securities litigation. He is global co-chair of Orrick's Blockchain and Cryptocurrency group.

Jason has represented numerous individual and corporate clients in investigations by the DOJ, SEC and other government regulators, as well as clients conducting and participating in internal corporate investigations. Jason has particular experience in financial and securities-related matters, many involving international and cross-border business activities. Jason is also an experienced trial lawyer and has litigated several cases through trial involving claims ranging from insider trading to professional negligence.

Jason has extensive knowledge of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Jason wrote some of the earliest articles addressing the securities law issues facing crypto asset developers, and he advises and defends clients in the industry facing regulatory scrutiny and potential litigation. Jason is also a member of the Digital Currency & Ledger Defense Coalition, which provides pro bono services and submits amicus briefs in matters related to digital currencies and blockchain technology.
