Dominic is a partner in the firm's English law Banking and Finance Practice with a particular focus on leveraged acquisition and single-asset financings. Dominic has significant experience of advising senior lenders, alternative credit providers, sponsors and borrowers on domestic UK and cross-border international financings.

Dominic is the Head of Orrick’s Banking and Finance Practice in London. Dominic focuses on corporate and real-asset financings (including for greenfield and brownfield energy and infrastructure projects). He has advised banks, funds and other alternative credit providers, guarantors, sponsors and borrowers on a wide-range of international financings, with a special focus on Africa.

  • Advised Azito Energie, Globeleq and IPS in respect of "Phase 3" of the Azito project in Cote d'Ivoire.

  •  Advising ENEO (previously SONEL) regarding the extension of its concession on electricity sector in Cameroon

  • Advised Verod Capital Management in respect of its minority stake in education provider Greensprings Educational Services (Nigeria)

  • Advised Verod Capital, in relation to a US$16.5 million capital call debt financing for two of its funds - Verod Capital Growth Fund II LP and Verod Capital Growth II A LP - from South Africa's Investec Bank  

  • Advised Canal+ in relation to its debt and equity investment in iRoko Partners Ltd (Nigeria)

  • Advised Calvert Foundation in respect of its US$17 million financing for Medical Credit Fund for healthcare projects in sub-Saharan Africa

  • Advised a monoline wrap provider in support of financing for the Gabon Special Economic Zone

  • Advised Wafra Partners as lender in respect of direct lending in support of various maritime assets

  • Advised RoundShield as lender in respect of its direct lending for and equity investment in multiple real-asset transactions across Europe


    Dominic has participated in recent panel discussions at Bonds, Loans & Sukuk conferences in Cape Town (March 2017) and Lagos (November 2017) in relation to direct lending opportunities and renewables financing in sub-Saharan Africa
