Orrick congratulates managing associate Shannon Seekao on being named to the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 2015 40 Under 40 list. The annual feature honors the Bay Area’s brightest rising stars across a wide range of industries.
As the publication notes, Shannon “had a front row seat to one of the most closely-watched trials in recent Silicon Valley history” as a member of the Orrick trial team that secured a resounding victory for venture capital firm Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers in the closely watched gender discrimination suit brought by former partner Ellen Pao. As case manager, Shannon was responsible for all aspects of trial preparation for one of the highest profile cases in the Bay Area, including discovery and case strategy.
A member of Orrick’s Silicon Valley Employment team, Shannon has defended many companies in class action, multi-plaintiff and single plaintiff lawsuits under California and federal law, including claims for discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, as well as wage-and-hour claims. She represents leading companies in the technology, venture capital, financial services and retail sectors.
